The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, invites applications from women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists for its Internship Programme. The initiative aims to provide participants with practical exposure to government policymaking, implementation of welfare schemes, and policy research relating to women and children in India.

The internship offers an opportunity to work closely with one of the country’s key ministries while contributing to research, policy analysis, and programme evaluation.

About the Ministry

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is the nodal ministry responsible for formulating and implementing policies, programmes, and legislation aimed at the welfare, empowerment, protection, and development of women and children in India.

The Internship Programme has been launched to translate the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” by encouraging young women to actively engage with public policy and governance.

Objective of the Internship Programme

The programme seeks to:

  • Provide practical exposure to government functioning
  • Familiarize interns with the Ministry’s schemes and policies
  • Encourage research on women and child development
  • Bridge information gaps through empirical studies
  • Enable participants to contribute to policy formulation

The internship is conducted throughout the financial year in four separate terms.
