About the Fellowship
The Litigation Fellowship Programme is a structured 12-month paid fellowship designed to equip aspiring litigators with courtroom exposure, drafting expertise, advocacy skills, and client-handling experience.
The programme follows an assessment-based progression model and provides hands-on learning under the guidance of experienced litigation professionals.
Programme Structure
Module 1: Litigation Fundamentals & Courtroom Orientation (Months 1–3)
Participants will receive foundational training in:
- Civil procedure and court processes
- Court hierarchies and filing procedures
- Courtroom dynamics and litigation practice
- Guided drafting exercises
- Court hearing observations alongside senior lawyers
Module 2: Drafting & Procedural Mastery (Months 4–6)
Participants will gain practical experience in:
- Drafting plaints, written statements, applications, and appeals
- Understanding procedural laws and court practices
- Working with matters under:
- Civil Procedure Code (CPC)
- Commercial Courts Act
- Arbitration and Conciliation Act
Module 3: Research, Oral Advocacy & Client Communication (Months 7–9)
Training will focus on:
- Advanced legal research
- Brief writing and legal argument structuring
- Oral advocacy skills
- Court appearance preparation
- Client communication and professional interaction
Module 4: Advanced Advocacy & Trial Skills (Months 10–12)
Participants will work on:
- Trial strategy and case management
- Cross-examination techniques
- Evidence management
- Live litigation matters under partner supervision
- Final assessed moot exercise before senior advocates
