Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, was established in 2018 under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act, 2018, with the objective of advancing legal education and research.
The University focuses on value-based legal education, practical training, and fostering a strong culture of research and academic excellence.
About the Opportunity
Shastrartha, the debating society of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, is organising the VI edition of its flagship inter-varsity debating tournament, the Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial Debate 2026.
The tournament will be conducted offline at the DNLU campus in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The event will feature British Parliamentary Debate, rigorous motions, adjudication by international and domestic adjudicators, and participation from universities across India and abroad.
The 2026 edition will feature a prize pool of Rs. 3,80,000, described by the organisers as the largest prize pool in Asia. The Core Adjudication Panel includes Raymond Kimura from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with additional international and domestic adjudicators to be announced.
Theme
The tournament will follow the British Parliamentary Debate format.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to all.
Registration Fee
Participants may register with or without accommodation and meals. The applicable registration fees are:
- With accommodation and meals: INR 3,300.
- Without accommodation and meals: INR 2,300.

The Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial Debate 2026 will be conducted offline at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur.
Prizes
The tournament carries a total prize pool of Rs. 3,80,000.
