KMC College of Law, Tirupur is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The institution is located at KMC Gardens, Kanakkampalayam Road, Perumanallur, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu.
The college emphasises experiential legal education through moot court training, interactions with judges and advocates, legal research, drafting, pleading and advocacy skills. Its inaugural National Moot Court Competition was conducted in September 2025, with 54 teams participating from law colleges across India.
About the Opportunity
KMC College of Law is organising the 2nd Edition KMC National Moot Court Competition 2026 from October 8 to 10, 2026.
The competition is centred on the theme โFair Play and Market Dominance: Game Beyond the Pitch โ Navigating the Anti-Competitive Legal Spectrum.โ It will provide law students with an opportunity to engage with contemporary issues relating to competition law, market dominance and anti-competitive practices.
Participants will develop their skills in legal research, memorial drafting, oral advocacy and courtroom presentation while examining the relationship between law, markets, competition and economic power.
Duration
The competition will be conducted from October 8 to October 10, 2026.
Mode
The competition will be conducted in offline/physical mode.
Location
The competition will be held at KMC College of Law, KMC Gardens, Kanakkampalayam Road, Perumanallur, Tiruppur โ 641666, Tamil Nadu.
Team Composition
Each team shall consist of three members:
- Two Speakers
- One Researcher
The team composition submitted at registration will be treated as final, subject to the competition rules. A maximum of two teams from the same institution may participate.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is โน3,500 per team. The fee is non-refundable.
Deadline
The deadline for registration is September 18, 2026.
The deadline for soft copy memorial submission is September 20, 2026.
The deadline for hard copy memorial submission is September 24, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing a three-year LL.B. course are eligible.
- Students pursuing a five-year B.A. LL.B. course are eligible.
- Participants must be from a recognised college, university or law school in India.
- A maximum of two teams from the same institution may participate.
Roles & Responsibilities
Legal Research
Participants will examine legal and policy issues concerning competition law, market dominance and anti-competitive practices.
Memorial Drafting
Teams will prepare and submit soft and hard copies of their memorials within the prescribed deadlines.
Oral Advocacy
The two Speakers will represent their team during the preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final and final rounds.
Researcher
The Researcher will undertake the research component of the competition and participate in the Researcher Test scheduled during the orientation programme.
