A Patna court has granted interim protection from arrest to educator Khan Sir, while the Patna High Court is also hearing his plea seeking quashing of the FIR and reopening of his coaching institute.

Patna Court Grants Interim Relief to Khan Sir

Popular educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, has secured interim protection from arrest in connection with a criminal case arising out of the recent violence at his coaching institute in Patna.

His counsel informed the media that an anticipatory bail application was filed before the Sessions Court, which granted interim protection pending further consideration of the matter.

According to the lawyer, the court directed that no coercive action be taken against Khan Sir until the next hearing, allowing him to remain at liberty while cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The court has also called for the case diary and antecedent records before deciding the anticipatory bail application on merits.

Violence at Khan Global Studies Triggered the Dispute

The case stems from an incident that took place on June 2, when a group of around 15 to 20 individuals allegedly vandalised the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna and pelted stones at the coaching institute.

The incident resulted in tension around the coaching centre and prompted police intervention.

Subsequently, law enforcement authorities launched an investigation into the events surrounding the violence and the alleged response by security personnel deployed at the institute.

Security Guards Arrested After Alleged Firing Incident

A day after the violence, police detained two security guards associated with the coaching institute after a video purportedly showing them opening fire surfaced on social media.

According to the police, firearms allegedly used during the incident were seized and sent for forensic examination.

An FIR was registered at Kadamkuan Police Station, and both guards were remanded to judicial custody.

Investigators have claimed that during questioning, the guards allegedly stated that they acted on instructions given by Khan Sir and others present at the institute. These allegations form a significant part of the ongoing investigation.

Khan Sir Moves Patna High Court Seeking Quashing of FIR

Apart from seeking anticipatory bail, Khan Sir has also approached the Patna High Court challenging the FIR registered against him.

In his petition, he has sought quashing of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Patna Police and has also requested directions for reopening Khan Global Studies, which has remained closed following the incident.

The matter recently came up before the High Court, which granted four weeks’ time to the Bihar Government to file its response.

The case is expected to be taken up again after the State places its reply on record.

What Happens Next?

The anticipatory bail matter is scheduled to be heard again on June 20 before the Sessions Court.

The court will consider the case diary, investigation records and submissions made by both sides before deciding whether regular anticipatory bail should be granted.

Meanwhile, proceedings before the Patna High Court regarding the FIR challenge and reopening of the coaching institute will continue separately after the State files its response.

The outcome of both proceedings could have a significant impact on the future course of the investigation and the functioning of Khan Global Studies.
