Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is a National Law University established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act. The Centre for Advanced Legal Studies, Training and Research (CALSTAR), established at MNLU Mumbai in 2022, undertakes academic, research and training activities in contemporary and futuristic areas of law.
About the Opportunity
The CALSTAR Blog Writing Competition 2026 seeks original and analytical contributions on contemporary issues in corporate and financial law. The competition encourages participants to examine legal challenges and evolving jurisprudence while developing solution-oriented perspectives.

Participants may write on any of the following areas:
- Banking Laws
- Competition Laws
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
- Taxation Laws
- White-Collar Crimes
- Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law
- Securities and Capital Markets Law
- Trade Law
- Contemporary issues related to Corporate and Financial Law
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate students enrolled in any course may participate.
- Postgraduate students enrolled in any course may participate.
- Research scholars are eligible.
- Academicians are eligible.
- Legal professionals are eligible.
- Single authorship is preferred.
- Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
Submission Guidelines
- The submission must be original.
- The recommended word limit is 1,200–2,000 words.
- Referencing should preferably be through embedded hyperlinks. Where necessary, footnotes or endnotes may follow OSCOLA 4th edition.
- Analytical and solution-oriented writing is encouraged instead of purely descriptive writing.
- The similarity or plagiarism index must not exceed 15%.
- AI-generated content must be below 10%.
Prizes
- First Prize: ₹5,000.
- Second Prize: ₹3,000.
- Third Prize: ₹2,000.
- Internship opportunities are available with reputed firms including Vaish Associates Advocates, Satyaki Legal and Clove Legal.
Training and Workshops
Registered participants will have access to a foundational workshop covering blog writing fundamentals, structure, clarity and drafting techniques.
Top performers will also participate in an advanced workshop focusing on topic identification, research questions, argument development, draft refinement and common writing mistakes. No additional fee is charged for these workshops.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is ₹300 for single authorship and ₹500 for co-authorship.
