About the Opportunity
The Associate will work with the firm’s Trademark, Copyright and GI team. The role involves handling trademark prosecution and contentious proceedings, advising clients, appearing before the Trade Marks Office and assisting with copyright matters.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Handle trademark prosecution work from filing through registration and post-registration proceedings.
- Conduct and review trademark clearance searches and advise on availability and registrability.
- Prepare responses to examination reports.
- Handle oppositions, cancellations, rectifications and other contentious trademark proceedings.
- Appear and argue matters at hearings before the Trade Marks Office.
- Liaise with the Trade Marks Registry and other relevant authorities on ongoing matters.
- Coordinate independently with clients, understand their requirements and provide timely advice.
- Assist with copyright filings and hearings before the Copyright Office.
Eligibility and Skills Required
Applicants should have:
- 3–4 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of trademark law and practice, with substantive hands-on experience in prosecution and contentious matters.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- The ability to take ownership of matters and coordinate independently with clients.
- A proactive, detail-oriented and solution-focused approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

The position is based at the K&S Partners office in Gurgaon.
