About the Opportunity
That Unconventional Lawyer is inviting applications for the position of US Litigation Support Assistant on behalf of a client. The selected candidate will provide litigation support to a pro se litigant by assisting with legal research, document management, drafting support, and litigation preparation. The role requires a commitment of approximately four hours per day, primarily during evening Indian Standard Time (IST), with occasional weekend availability in urgent situations.
Mode
This is a remote opportunity. The selected candidate will work online while coordinating with the client and completing litigation support assignments through digital communication platforms.
Working Hours
The role requires a commitment of approximately four hours per day from Monday to Friday. Work will generally be carried out during evening Indian Standard Time (IST), with occasional weekend availability if required.
Compensation
Compensation will be provided on an hourly basis. The applicable hourly rate has not been disclosed and will be discussed separately with shortlisted candidates during the recruitment process.

Eligibility Criteria
- Fourth or fifth-year law students may apply.
- Law graduates are also eligible.
- Active access to Westlaw or Lexis Advance is mandatory.
- Experience conducting legal research using either platform is required.
- Prior US litigation support experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Relevant experience should be highlighted in the cover letter.
Roles & Responsibilities
Legal Research
- Conduct statutory and case law research using Westlaw or Lexis Advance.
- Assist with legal research for ongoing litigation matters.
Case Preparation
- Prepare case timelines and chronologies.
- Organise litigation files and maintain case records.
- Prepare and organise exhibits.
Drafting & Documentation
- Assist with drafting US litigation filings where required.
- Verify legal citations and references.
- Format and proofread litigation documents.
Litigation Support
- Perform other litigation preparation tasks as reasonably assigned.
