About the Job
AK & Partners is inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate in its General Corporate, Regulatory, and Fintech practice. This is a transaction-focused advisory role involving independent management of corporate and regulatory matters, client advisory work, transactional drafting, and regulatory compliance.
The selected candidate will work directly with clients, manage matters independently, supervise junior associates, and contribute to high-value corporate and fintech transactions.

Two positions are available.
Mode
This is a full-time, on-site position.
Location
The position is based in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian university.
- Registered with the Bar Council of India or a State Bar Council.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in corporate advisory, M&A transactions, or financial regulatory practice.
- Prior law firm experience is preferred.
- In-house experience at regulated entities may be considered for candidates with substantial relevant experience.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
- Leadership and mentoring experience.
- Exposure to RBI, FEMA, SEBI, IRDAI, payment systems, digital lending, or PMLA regulations will be an advantage.
Important Note
This is a transactional and regulatory advisory role. Experience primarily in litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, NCLT/NCLAT matters, or court-based practice will not be considered relevant for this position.
Roles & Responsibilities
Corporate Advisory & Transactions
- Independently manage corporate and regulatory advisory matters.
- Handle transactions from inception to completion with partner oversight.
- Provide strategic legal advice on commercial and regulatory issues.
Transaction Documentation
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex transactional documents.
- Prepare share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements, and commercial contracts.
- Draft regulatory submissions and advisory opinions.
Financial Regulatory Advisory
- Advise clients on RBI, FEMA, SEBI, IRDAI, and payment systems regulations.
- Assist clients with regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Monitor developments in financial services regulation.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Provide commercially focused legal solutions.
- Manage client expectations and timelines effectively.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor junior associates.
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of work products.
- Contribute to knowledge management and internal training initiatives.
Business Development & Knowledge Management
- Assist in preparing client alerts, regulatory updates, and briefing notes.
- Support proposal preparation and client engagement activities.
- Contribute to the firm’s regulatory knowledge base.
