About the Organiser
The Centre for International Law, International Relations and Diplomacy (CILIRD) is an autonomous student-run centre dedicated to promoting dialogue and awareness in the fields of international law and global affairs.
CILIRD was established with the objective of bridging the gap between youth and international policy conversations. While students are deeply affected by global developments, they are often excluded from meaningful participation in policy discussions. CILIRD aims to address this issue by creating platforms where young scholars and students can actively engage with international legal and diplomatic issues.
The centre operates on the belief that students should not only observe global debates but also contribute to them. By organising academic programmes, discussions, and collaborative initiatives, the centre encourages students to explore the complexities of global governance and international relations.
CILIRD’s work focuses on three primary pillars:
Awareness
The organisation works to raise awareness about international law, diplomacy, and global governance through academic discussions, seminars, and public engagement activities.
Education
CILIRD promotes learning opportunities by organising educational events such as webinars, workshops, policy discussions, and speaker sessions featuring experts from academia, diplomacy, and policy institutions.
Participation
The centre encourages active student participation in global conversations by providing opportunities to contribute to academic events, policy discussions, and collaborative initiatives with institutions and organisations.
Through these initiatives, CILIRD seeks to empower students to become informed participants in international discourse and policy development.
