Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, in collaboration with the Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, is organizing a National Seminar titled “India’s Waste Laws: Challenges & Sustainable Solutions.” Scheduled for 6 April 2026, this seminar serves as a “Lighthouse” for interdisciplinary dialogue, addressing the critical intersection of environmental governance, public health, and academic analysis.

About the Organizers

Established in 2012, DBRANLU Sonepat is a premier state law university committed to justice and constitutional excellence. Through its Centre for Labour Studies, the university is hosting this seminar to foster “Research-Focused Scholarship” that aligns waste governance with global sustainable development and climate action goals.


About the Seminar

India faces an unprecedented surge in waste generation, necessitating a transition from conventional disposal to circular economy models. This seminar provides a platform for academicians, legal practitioners, and policymakers to apply analytical rigor to the current regulatory framework.

The discussions will move beyond traditional legal research to explore innovative solutions such as:

Submission Guidelines

Participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional discipline and academic integrity.

  • Abstract: 250–300 words, including objectives, methodology, and 4–5 keywords.
  • Full Paper: 3500–5000 words (excluding footnotes).
  • Citation Style: Indian Law Institute (ILI) Method of Citation.
  • Originality: Work must be unpublished with a similarity index not exceeding 15%.
  • Presentation: Authors may opt for oral or poster presentations (1m × 1m).
