The School of Law, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), provides legal education and professional training through its undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes. The School emphasises legal research, advocacy, drafting, moot court training and experiential legal education.
About the Opportunity
The 8th SRM National Tamil Moot Court Competition 2026 is a national-level moot court competition organised by the School of Law, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The competition will be conducted in Tamil and will provide law students with an opportunity to participate in moot court proceedings.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. programme are eligible to participate.
- Students pursuing a 5-year integrated LL.B. programme are eligible to participate.
- The medium of the competition will be Tamil.
- A maximum of two teams may participate from each college or university.
- Each team must comprise 2 Student Advocates and 1 Researcher.

- Registration Deadline: 5th October 2026.
- Deadline for Clarification / Other Information: 5th October 2026.
- Memorial – Soft Copy Submission: 6th October 2026.
- Memorial – Hard Copy Submission: 9th October 2026.
- Best Researcher Selection: 9th October 2026.
- Preliminary & Quarter-Final Rounds: 10th October 2026.
- Semi-Final & Final Rounds: 11th October 2026.
Prizes
- Winner: ₹21,000 + Trophy + Special Certificate + AIR Online Subscription.
- Runner-up: ₹15,000 + Trophy + Certificate + AIR Online Subscription.
- Best Student Advocate: ₹7,000 + Trophy + Special Recognition Certificate.
- Best Researcher: ₹7,000 + Trophy + Special Recognition Certificate.
- Best Memorial: ₹7,000 + Trophy + Special Recognition Certificate.
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is ₹3,000 per team. Registration is to be completed through NEFT, and the transaction receipt must be uploaded along with the registration details in the Google Form.
