About Youth Internet Governance Forum India
Youth Internet Governance Forum (Youth IGF) India is a youth-led initiative that promotes awareness, dialogue, and participation in internet governance. The platform brings together young people, policymakers, technologists, academia, civil society, and industry to discuss issues relating to technology, digital policy, and internet governance while encouraging meaningful youth participation in multistakeholder decision-making.
About the Fellowship
The Youth IGF India Fellowship 2026 aims to mentor young individuals interested in technology, policy, and society. The fellowship provides opportunities to engage with experts, build knowledge on internet governance, contribute to policy discussions, develop research skills, and participate in the Youth IGF India Annual Forum. Fellows will also have the opportunity to prepare and publish a long-form research paper during the programme.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Indian citizen residing in India.
- Must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
- Should demonstrate an interest in internet governance.
- Experience in internet governance or related fields is desirable.
- Must be available to actively participate in fellowship sessions and meetings.
Expectations
- Participate actively in fellowship sessions and discussions.
- Commit at least 4 hours per week throughout the fellowship.
- Prepare a long-form research paper on a technology policy or internet governance issue.
- Continue contributing to the internet governance ecosystem after the fellowship.
- Attend the 9th Youth IGF India Annual Forum at IIT Bombay in September 2026.
- Complete all mandatory assignments during the fellowship.

Thematic Focus Areas
The fellowship will cover topics including internet governance, digital access, artificial intelligence regulation, global competition law, cyber governance, digital safety, and career pathways in technology policy. Additional thematic sessions will be announced before the commencement of the programme.
