About the Internship
The Study Abroad Legal Team at upGrad is inviting applications for the position of Legal Intern. The internship offers an opportunity to work on international university partnerships, cross-border commercial transactions, and legal issues impacting the global education industry.
Selected interns will assist the legal team in drafting and reviewing agreements, conducting legal research, supporting compliance initiatives, and advising business teams on operational and regulatory matters.
Duration
The internship requires a minimum commitment of four months.

This is a work-from-office internship.
Location
The position is based in Noida.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students in the 4th or 5th year of a 5-year law programme.
- Students in the 2nd or 3rd year of a 3-year law programme.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Prior internships in corporate law, commercial law, technology law, or education law will be preferred.
- Ability to work from the Noida office.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
Contract Drafting & Review
- Review and draft partnership agreements with universities and international institutions.
- Assist in preparing commercial contracts and related legal documentation.
- Support contract negotiations across multiple jurisdictions.
Cross-Border Transactions
- Assist in matters involving international university collaborations.
- Support legal work relating to cross-border commercial arrangements across India, APAC, MENA, and other regions.
Legal Research & Compliance
- Conduct research on education laws, data privacy regulations, consumer protection requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Prepare legal notes and regulatory analyses for internal stakeholders.
Advisory & Risk Assessment
- Support programme launches from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Review offer letters, refund policies, and operational processes.
- Prepare risk assessments and contract summaries for business teams.
Business Support
- Work closely with business and operational teams on ongoing projects.
- Assist in providing practical legal solutions for business requirements.
