NIDAN Centre for Legal and Policy Research is a think tank dedicated to policy research across key areas of law, including Alternative Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Rights, Constitutional Law, and Governance. The Centre focuses on producing research that combines academic rigor with practical relevance to India’s legal and regulatory landscape.
Through its research initiatives, NIDAN seeks to contribute to informed legal discourse and policy development on emerging legal and regulatory issues.
About the Opportunity
The NIDAN Centre for Legal and Policy Research is inviting applications for the Technology & Regulatory Innovation Fellowship (TRIF). The fellowship enables participants to undertake research at the intersection of technology, law, and regulation while contributing to the Centre’s flagship Technology & Regulatory Innovation (TRIF) Project.
Selected fellows will conduct legal and policy research, analyse regulatory developments, and assist in the preparation of research papers and policy publications addressing emerging technology governance challenges.
Duration
The fellowship will be conducted from August 16, 2026, to September 16, 2026.
Mode
The fellowship will be conducted in remote/virtual mode.
Remuneration
This is an unpaid fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students enrolled in the second year or above of a five-year integrated LL.B. programme.
- Students enrolled in a three-year LL.B. programme.
- LL.M. students.

Roles & Responsibilities
Legal & Policy Research
- Conduct structured legal and policy research on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital governance, data protection, cybersecurity, platform regulation, fintech, and related areas.
- Analyse legislative developments, judicial decisions, policy papers, regulatory frameworks, and international best practices.
Research Publications
- Contribute to the Technology & Regulatory Innovation (TRIF) Project.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and refining research papers, policy briefs, and scholarly publications in accordance with the Centre’s publication standards.
