About Institute of Banking Personnel Selection

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (CRP RRBs-XV). The process is being conducted for recruitment to Group A Officers in Scale I, II and III and Group B Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in participating Regional Rural Banks.

The recruitment process covers RRBs across multiple States and Union Territories, with provisional allotment based on merit, preferences and vacancies reported by the participating RRBs.

About the Opportunity

The CRP RRBs XV recruitment process provides opportunities for eligible candidates to apply for Officer Scale I, Officer Scale II, Officer Scale III and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) positions in participating Regional Rural Banks.

Candidates can apply for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and also for one post in the Officersโ€™ cadre. However, candidates cannot apply for more than one of Officer Scale I, Scale II or Scale III. Separate applications and application fees are required for each post.

The selection process consists of online examinations, followed by interviews for the Officersโ€™ cadre. Office Assistants are provisionally allotted on the basis of performance in the Main Examination and actual vacancies reported by the concerned RRBs.

Number of Positions

The notification contains indicative, post-wise and category-wise vacancies for participating Regional Rural Banks. The vacancies are subject to change based on the actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.

The recruitment includes:

  • Office Assistants (Multipurpose)
  • Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager)
  • Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer)
  • Officer Scale II Specialist Officers
  • Officer Scale III (Senior Manager)

Mode

The examinations will be conducted online at examination centres across India.

Deadline

The deadline for online registration and payment of application fees is September 21, 2026.

Application Fee

For Officers Scale I, II and III:

  • โ‚น175, inclusive of GST, for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
  • โ‚น850, inclusive of GST, for all other candidates.

For Office Assistants (Multipurpose):

  • โ‚น175, inclusive of GST, for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/DESM candidates.
  • โ‚น850, inclusive of GST, for all other candidates.

Bank transaction charges for online payment are to be borne by the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates must satisfy the nationality/citizenship requirements specified in the notification, including being a citizen of India or falling within the other categories recognised by the Government of India.

Age

The age limits as on September 1, 2026 are:

  • Office Assistants (Multipurpose): Between 18 and 28 years.
  • Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager): Above 18 and below 30 years.
  • Officer Scale II (Manager): Above 21 and below 32 years.
  • Officer Scale III (Senior Manager): Above 21 and below 40 years.

Age relaxation is available for eligible reserved and specified categories in accordance with the notification.

Educational Qualifications

  • Office Assistants (Multipurpose): Bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline from a recognised University or its equivalent. Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB is required, with working knowledge of computers desirable.
  • Officer Scale I: Bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline from a recognised University or its equivalent. Preference is given to candidates with degrees in specified fields including Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • Officer Scale II General Banking Officer: Bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, along with two yearsโ€™ experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
  • Officer Scale III: Bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and at least five yearsโ€™ experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

Law Officer

Candidates applying for Officer Scale II Specialist Officer (Law Officer) must have:

  • A degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Two yearsโ€™ experience as an advocate or at least two yearsโ€™ experience working as a Law Officer in a bank or financial institution.

Roles & Responsibilities

Office Assistant

The Office Assistant (Multipurpose) post forms part of Group B recruitment in the participating Regional Rural Banks. Candidates selected through the Main Examination are provisionally allotted based on their marks and the actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.

Officer Scale I

Officer Scale I is the Assistant Manager position. Candidates are required to qualify in the Preliminary and Main Examinations before being considered for the Common Interview.

Officer Scale II Specialist Officer โ€“ Law

The Law Officer position is part of the Officer Scale II Specialist Officer category. Eligible candidates with a recognised Law degree and the prescribed professional experience may apply for this position.

Officer Scale II and III

Candidates for Officer Scale II and Scale III appear for a Single Online Examination. Shortlisted candidates are subsequently called for the Common Interview.

  • December 2026/February 2027 โ€” Main/Single Examination.
  • January 2027 โ€” Declaration of Main/Single Examination results.
  • January 2027 โ€” Interview call letters for Officers.
  • January/February 2027 โ€” Interviews.
  • February/March 2027 โ€” Provisional allotment.

Selection Process

For Office Assistants and Officer Scale I, the online examination is conducted in two phases: Preliminary and Main Examination.

For Officer Scale II and Scale III, candidates appear for a Single Online Examination. Candidates shortlisted for the Officersโ€™ posts are subsequently called for a Common Interview.

The interview carries 100 marks, with minimum qualifying marks of 40% for general candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. The relative weightage of the Online Examination and Interview for the Officersโ€™ cadre is 80:20.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates may apply online through the official IBPS website.

Candidates should visit the IBPS website, open the CRP for RRBs section and select the appropriate online application for Officers Scale I, II and III or Office Assistants (Multipurpose).

Candidates must complete the online registration process, upload the required documents and pay the applicable application fee online.

Applications can be submitted only between September 1 and September 21, 2026. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Candidates applying for the Officersโ€™ cadre may apply for only one of Scale I, Scale II or Scale III. Candidates may additionally apply for Office Assistant (Multipurpose), subject to fulfilling the relevant eligibility requirements.
