National Law University Delhi (NLUD) has invited applications for the position of Academic Fellow (IP Law) for its Joint Masters/LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law & Management Programme. The programme is jointly offered by National Law University Delhi, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM – Indian IP Office).

The programme integrates intellectual property law with management principles and is designed to provide specialised academic and professional training in the field of intellectual property.

About the Opportunity

National Law University Delhi is seeking to engage one Academic Fellow (IP Law) on a contractual basis for an initial period of one year. The selected candidate will assist in teaching, programme implementation, and other academic activities related to the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme.

The appointment is temporary in nature and may be extended based on the candidate’s performance and the University’s requirements.

Number of Positions

There is one Academic Fellow (IP Law) position available.

Duration

The appointment will initially be for one year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance and the requirements of the University.

Location

The position is based at National Law University Delhi, Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi.

Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of ₹60,000. Applicable TDS will be deducted in accordance with the Income Tax Act and University regulations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • LL.M. (Specialisation in Intellectual Property Rights) with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, which may include IP litigation, transactions, research, or experience as a teaching assistant.
  • A strong research record in Intellectual Property will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of international intellectual property law and international IP treaties will be considered an additional advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

Teaching Assistance

  • Facilitate as a teaching assistant for faculty members and experts associated with the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme.

Programme Coordination

  • Assist in the organisation and implementation of the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme.

Academic Support

  • Perform any other work assigned by the Programme Director or by the University, Centre, or Chair in the field of Intellectual Property.
