About the Competition Commission of India
The Competition Commission of India is a statutory body established under the Competition Act, 2002. It is responsible for promoting and sustaining competition in markets, protecting consumer interests, and ensuring freedom of trade in India.
Through its advocacy mandate, CCI regularly conducts outreach, training, and internship programmes to build awareness and expertise in competition law among students and professionals.
About the Internship
The CCI Internship Programme is designed to provide students with practical insights into the application of competition law and the working of the Commission. Interns gain exposure to regulatory issues, legal analysis, and policy matters relevant to market competition and economic regulation.
The programme begins with an induction session on the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002. During the internship, students work full-time from the Commission’s office and are guided by experienced professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
The internship is open to Indian nationals studying at recognized institutions and universities with exposure to competition law. Eligible candidates include:
- Second and third year students of the 3-year LL.B. programme
- Fourth and final year students of the 5-year integrated LL.B. programme
- LL.M. students
Students who already have a placement offer are not eligible to apply.
Responsibilities
- Research and analysis relating to competition law
- Study of market regulation and economic issues
- Preparation of reports and assignments under supervision
- Participation in induction and training programmes
Duration
The internship is generally for one month, beginning on the first working day of the month. Candidates may also apply for a duration of two to three months with a recommendation from their institution.

Selected interns receive an honorarium of ₹15,000 per month.

Important Deadline
