The International Conference is being organised by the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The conference aims to explore the relationship between Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and the disciplines of law, political theory, and economics. By bringing together scholars from different academic backgrounds, the organisers seek to encourage meaningful dialogue on how traditional Indian knowledge can contribute to present-day legal systems, governance models, economic thought, and public policy.

About the Opportunity

The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, is inviting researchers, academicians, legal professionals, policy experts, and students to participate in its International Conference on “Interconnection Between Indian Knowledge Systems and Law, Political Theory & Economics 2026.”

The conference intends to create an interdisciplinary platform where participants can critically analyse the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems in addressing contemporary legal, constitutional, political, economic, and governance challenges. Through paper presentations and academic discussions, participants will have the opportunity to present original research, exchange ideas with experts from diverse disciplines, and contribute to the growing body of scholarship surrounding indigenous knowledge traditions and their application in modern governance.

All submissions will undergo an initial screening followed by a peer-review process. Papers will be evaluated on originality, conceptual clarity, thematic relevance, methodological rigour, and contribution to existing scholarship. Authors of selected papers will be invited to present their research during the conference. Selected manuscripts may also be considered for publication after the editorial review process without any separate publication fee. The publication process is expected to be completed within three to four months after the conference.

The conference will be held over two days on 24 and 25 September 2026.

Remuneration

Selected manuscripts will be considered for publication after completion of the peer-review and editorial process. No separate publication fee or additional charges will be levied for publication.

Application Procedure

Interested participants may apply through the following:

Submissions must be made electronically in .doc format only through the official Google Form. Every paper will first undergo an initial screening by the Organising Committee to assess its relevance to the conference theme and compliance with academic standards. Eligible papers will then be subjected to a peer-review process. Authors of selected papers will be informed through their registered email addresses and invited to present their work during the conference. A WhatsApp group may be created to facilitate communication with selected participants. Certificates will be awarded to all paper presenters. In cases of co-authorship, certificates will be issued to both authors, although only one author may present the paper during the conference.

The registration fee is as follows:

  • Professionals, Academicians and Post-Doctoral Researchers: ₹1,500 (Single) | ₹2,500 (Joint)
  • Ph.D. Scholars: ₹1,000 (Single) | ₹1,500 (Joint)
  • Postgraduate and Undergraduate Students: ₹750 (Single) | ₹1,200 (Joint)
  • Academician with Ph.D. Scholar (Joint): ₹2,000
  • Academician with UG/PG Student (Joint): ₹1,700

Separate registration fees are also prescribed for foreign participants.
