3rd National Level Moot Court Competition by IIMT College of Law: Register by October 15!

IIMT College of Law invites law students to participate in the 3rd National Level Moot Court Competition in Greater Noida on 29 and 30 October 2026.

About IIMT College of Law

IIMT College of Law is situated in Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida. The institution is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, and approved by the Bar Council of India. It offers B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. programmes and focuses on academic excellence, professional development, practical legal training and ethical values.

The College regularly conducts national moot court competitions, seminars, debates, conferences and workshops. It also undertakes legal aid and legal awareness initiatives with the District Legal Services Authority, Gautam Budh Nagar.

About the Competition

The 3rd National Level Moot Court Competition is organised under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, 10 and 16, with support from the District Legal Services Authority, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Jaggi, Jaggi & Jaggi is the Official Knowledge Partner.

This national moot court competition is designed to give law students practical exposure to the Indian judicial system and courtroom proceedings. The IIMT moot court competition develops advocacy, legal research, drafting, critical thinking, oral argumentation, articulation and professional courtroom conduct through a realistic problem and memorial exercise.

Moot Proposition

The moot proposition is titled Women’s Rights Commission v. State of Aryavarta & Anr. It addresses prenuptial agreements, matrimonial autonomy, gender inequality, domestic violence, self-defence, grave and sudden provocation, criminal responsibility, mitigating circumstances and the constitutional and legal considerations surrounding the death penalty.

Eligibility Criteria

• The competition is open to bona fide students pursuing three-year or five-year LL.B. programmes.
• Each Law College or University may register only one team.
• The competition will be conducted in English or Hindi.
• Participants must not disclose the identity of their institution during the proceedings.
• A unique Team Code will be allotted through the registration confirmation email.

Team Composition

Each team shall comprise three members: two Mooters and one Researcher.

Language and Oral Submission Time

Teams may present in English or Hindi. Each team will receive 15 minutes in total for oral submissions by both Mooters, followed by 5 minutes for rebuttal.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is Rs. 2,100 per team. Teams must complete the online form with participant details, pay the fee and upload a screenshot of the payment. No change in participant names will be permitted after submission of the Registration Form.

Prizes

The brochure for the moot court competition 2026 advertises attractive prizes up to Rs. 1,01,001/- and lists the following awards:

• Winner Team: Rs. 21,000, Winner Trophy and Gift.
• Runner-Up Team: Rs. 15,000, Runner-Up Trophy and Gift.
• Best Researcher: Rs. 5,100 and Gift.
• Best Mooter: Rs. 5,100 and Gift.
• Best Memorial: Rs. 5,100 and Gift.
• Moot Court Warriors: Medal and Gift.
• Certificate of Participation for all participants.

Important Dates

• Opening of Registration: 5 September 2026.
• Release of Moot Proposition: 8 September 2026.
• Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: 30 September 2026.
• Last Date for Final Registration with Payment: 15 October 2026.
• Release of Clarifications: 17 October 2026.
• Last Date for Memorial Submission: 22 October 2026.
• Draw of Lots and Researcher’s Test: 29 October 2026.
• Preliminary Round and Quarter-Final: 29 October 2026.
• Semi-Final, Final Round and Valedictory Function: 30 October 2026.

Reporting time for all participants is 9:00 AM on the day of the event.

Competition Rounds

The competition will include the Researcher’s Test, Preliminary Round, Quarter-Final Round, Semi-Final Round and Final Round. The top eight teams from the Preliminary Rounds will qualify for the Quarter-Finals. The Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals will be conducted in a knockout format, followed by the Final Round between the two winning teams.

Memorial Submission

Teams must submit soft copies of memorials for both sides by 11:59 PM IST on 22 October 2026 to legalaidcell_gn@iimtindia.net in both PDF and DOC/DOCX formats. The memorial must follow the prescribed structure and formatting requirements in the brochure.

Application Procedure

Teams should complete the online registration form with all team details by 15 October 2026, pay the registration fee of Rs. 2,100 per team and upload the payment screenshot with the form.

The Team Code will be communicated through the registration confirmation email. Participants must follow the prescribed dress code and memorial guidelines in the brochure.
