About CCLC, ICFAI Law School

The conference is organised by the Centre for Criminal Law and Criminology (CCLC), ICFAI Law School, The ICFAI University, Jaipur. The ICFAI University, Jaipur was established under the ICFAI University, Jaipur Act, 2011 passed by the Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan, and ICFAI Law School, a constituent of the University, was established in 2015.

CCLC was established by ICFAI Law School as a platform for discussion and deliberation in criminal law and criminology, with a focus on criminal justice policy and practice, the rule of law, and reform of substantive and procedural criminal law.

About the Conference

The 2nd International Conference on “Revisiting Criminal Laws: Protection of Women in the Digital Era” will examine emerging challenges to women’s safety and rights in the digital world. The conference will bring together academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, law enforcement officials, technology experts and civil society organisations to discuss issues including cybercrimes against women, digital evidence, online safety, artificial intelligence, victim protection and criminal justice reforms.

The organisers invite original and unpublished research papers from authors around the globe for the conference.

Theme and Sub-Themes

The conference will focus on the theme “Revisiting Criminal Laws: Protection of Women in the Digital Era”. The sub-themes include:

  • Criminal liability in digital offences
  • Digital obscenity and criminal justice
  • Global best practices and cooperation
  • Effectiveness of existing criminal laws
  • Accountability of global technology platforms
  • Data protection, privacy and women’s rights
  • Law enforcement and cyber offences
  • Comparative and international perspectives
  • Victim support, rehabilitation and access to justice
  • Investigative and procedural challenges
  • Transboundary challenges in addressing cybercrime against women
  • Artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and gendered risks in cyberspace

Eligibility

The conference is open to academicians, researchers and research scholars, legal practitioners, industry professionals, policymakers, postgraduate students, law students, and students and scholars from allied disciplines.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract submission will be treated as provisional registration, and co-author names must be mentioned in the abstract submission form
  • The abstract must be 250 to 300 words and include 5 to 7 keywords
  • Upon acceptance, the full research paper must be submitted through the Google Form link sent with the acceptance e-mail
  • At least one author of each accepted paper must register and present the paper at the conference; in case of co-authorship, at least one author must attend and present the paper
  • Authors must bring a hard copy of the abstract and the full paper on the conference day

Formatting Guidelines

  • Language: English
  • Word limit for the full paper: 4,000 to 5,000 words, inclusive of citations, references and footnotes
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point; page size: A4; margins: 1 inch; line spacing: 1.5
  • Citation style: 20th Edition of The Bluebook
  • File format: MS Word
  • Maximum similarity index: 10%, excluding properly cited quotations, references and bibliographical material

Prizes and Certificates

  • Best Research Paper: INR 5,000
  • Best Presenter: INR 5,000
  • Certificate of participation for all participants

Registration Fees

  • Indian students, scholars and professionals: INR 700
  • Indian co-authors: INR 1,200
  • Students of The ICFAI University: INR 500
  • Co-authors who are students of The ICFAI University: INR 800

The registration fees are non-refundable.

Important Dates

  • Abstract submission deadline: October 21, 2026, 11:59 PM IST
  • Confirmation of abstract: October 26, 2026
  • Full paper submission deadline: November 4, 2026, 11:59 PM IST
  • Conference: November 20–21, 2026

Conference Format and Venue

The conference will be held in offline mode, in-campus at The ICFAI University, Jaipur, Near Cambay Golf Resort, Agra Road, Jamdoli, Jaipur – 302031, Rajasthan, India.

High tea on November 20 and lunch on November 21, 2026 will be provided to participants on campus. Accommodation and transportation will not be provided; the organisers will assist with arrangements if requested.
