The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is inviting applications for its Internship Programme for law students interested in gaining exposure to digital governance, public policy research, and regulatory frameworks relating to internet governance and online gaming policy.
About the Organisation
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is responsible for formulating and implementing national policies relating to information technology, electronics, digital infrastructure, and internet governance in India. The Ministry plays a key role in strengthening e-governance initiatives, supporting digital inclusion, and regulating emerging areas within the technology ecosystem. It also contributes to the development of regulatory frameworks addressing issues such as cybersecurity, platform governance, and digital sector policy development.
About the Internship
The MeitY Internship Programme provides law students with structured exposure to policy-oriented legal research and regulatory analysis connected with India’s evolving digital governance landscape. Selected interns will work closely with divisions engaged in specialised areas such as internet governance and online gaming regulation.
Interns will assist in research assignments relating to digital regulatory frameworks and contribute to policy analysis supporting the Ministry’s work in emerging technology-related legal areas. The internship enables participants to understand how policy formulation takes place within a central government ministry and how regulatory strategies are developed for rapidly evolving digital sectors.
This opportunity is particularly valuable for students interested in technology law, cyber regulation, digital policy, and government advisory work, as it provides insight into institutional policymaking processes and regulatory research environments.
