The university has invited applications for regular faculty positions in Law and Sociology pursuant to faculty posts sanctioned by the Government of Tripura.
About the Opportunity
National Law University, Tripura has issued a re-advertisement for the positions of Professor of Law, Associate Professor of Law and Assistant Professor of Sociology.
The recruitment is for regular positions. Candidates appointed to the Professor and Associate Professor positions may also be allowed to join on deputation basis.
Candidates who had already applied under the earlier Advertisement No. NLUT/Faculty-Recruitment/2026/01 dated June 15, 2026 are not required to apply again.

The Assistant Professor of Sociology position is reserved for the SC category.
Salary
The Professor of Law position carries a pay scale of INR 1,44,200 to INR 2,18,200 at Academic Level 14 as per the UGC-recommended 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Revised).
The Associate Professor of Law position carries a pay scale of INR 1,31,400 to INR 2,17,700 at Academic Level 13A as per the UGC-recommended 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Revised).
The Assistant Professor of Sociology position carries a pay scale of INR 57,700 to INR 1,82,400 at Academic Level 10 as per the UGC-recommended 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Revised).

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must satisfy the essential qualifications and experience prescribed in the original Advertisement No. NLUT/Faculty-Recruitment/2026/01 dated June 15, 2026.
- The applicable reservation policy and other eligibility requirements of the original advertisement shall apply.
- Eligible applicants for the Assistant Professor position are required to submit the Academic/Research Score in accordance with Appendix II, Table 3A of the UGC Regulations, 2018.
- Supporting documents must be uploaded along with the completed Academic/Research Score form.
- Candidates who already applied against the June 15, 2026 advertisement are not required to submit a fresh application.
Roles & Responsibilities
Teaching and Academic Work
Selected faculty members will be appointed to teach in their respective disciplines and areas of specialization at National Law University, Tripura.
Research and Academic Assessment
For the Assistant Professor position, the Academic/Research Score will be calculated on the basis of academic record, M.Phil./Ph.D., NET/JRF/SLET-SET, research publications, teaching or post-doctoral experience and awards, as applicable under the UGC Regulations, 2018.
The Academic/Research Score framework carries a maximum of 100 marks, including 80 marks for academic score, 10 marks for research publications and 10 marks for teaching experience.
