Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan is a national-level voluntary organization established in 1975 and recognized for its work in disability inclusion and social welfare. The organization works across areas including poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, social justice, disaster relief, and community development.
Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan is organizing this one-day national seminar in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthanam, Lucknow, a Government of Uttar Pradesh institution established to preserve, promote, and develop Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit languages and literature.
About the Opportunity
Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan and Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthanam, Lucknow, are inviting abstracts and research papers for a one-day National Seminar on “Ancient Indian Jurisprudence and the Modern Judicial System: The Relevance of Sanskrit Literature in the Contemporary Perspective.”
The seminar aims to facilitate interdisciplinary discussions on the relevance of ancient Indian legal philosophy and Sanskrit literature in contemporary legal systems. It seeks to bring together legal scholars, practitioners, researchers, Sanskrit scholars, judicial officers, academicians, and students to examine how traditional legal principles can contribute to present-day jurisprudence, judicial ethics, governance, constitutional values, and dispute resolution. Selected research papers may be published in an ISBN book after a blind review process.

The seminar will be held at Kamkus College of Law, B-Block, Sector 23, Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR – 201002.

The last date for abstract submission is August 15, 2026.
The last date for submission of complete papers is September 5, 2026. Registration commenced on August 5, 2026, and will close once 100 participant slots are filled.
Perks
Selected papers may be published in an ISBN book following the blind review process.
Participants will receive lunch and evening high tea during the seminar.
Certificates for actual participation and paper presentation will be issued after completion of the event.

Roles & Responsibilities
Research
- Prepare an original and unpublished research paper on the seminar theme or related sub-themes.
- Apply appropriate research methodology in the paper.
- Ensure the paper complies with the prescribed formatting and citation guidelines.
Paper Presentation
- Present the research paper during the seminar if selected.
- Participate in scholarly discussions on ancient Indian jurisprudence and contemporary legal issues.
