𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀Participants who have successfully registered for the Lexibal Legal Blog Writing Competition 2026 are required to prepare and submit an original legal blog based on the competition theme:

“Law in the Age of Change: Emerging Legal Issues in India”

Participants are requested to carefully follow the submission guidelines given below.

𝟭. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁

The blog should be between 1,200 and 1,800 words, excluding footnotes and references, where applicable.

Participants are advised to ensure that their submission remains within the prescribed word limit.

𝟮. 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲

The blog must have a clear, relevant, and engaging title reflecting the legal issue discussed.

The title should accurately represent the subject and focus of the article.

𝟯. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The blog should begin with a well-written introduction that:

• Introduces the legal issue being discussed.
• Provides the necessary background and context.
• Identifies the central issue or question addressed by the blog.
• Explains why the issue is relevant and significant in the present legal landscape.
• Briefly indicates the approach or argument adopted in the article.

𝟰. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲

After the introduction, participants should provide a brief author profile.

The author profile should include:

Name of Author
College/University
Course and Year of Study

Participants may also provide a LinkedIn profile or other professional/social media link through which readers can learn more about the author.

Participants are encouraged to keep the author profile concise and relevant.

𝟱. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀

The main body of the blog should provide a meaningful discussion and analysis of the selected legal issue.

Participants are encouraged to address, where relevant:

• The background and development of the issue.
• The existing legal position.
• The significance of the issue in the contemporary context.
• The research gap or unresolved aspects surrounding the issue.
• Why the issue requires further discussion or examination.
• Relevant developments, debates, or emerging concerns.
• The practical and legal implications of the issue.
• The participant’s own observations and arguments.

The discussion should go beyond merely describing the law and should demonstrate independent thought, legal reasoning, and critical engagement with the subject.

𝟲. 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Participants should support their arguments with relevant and reliable legal authorities wherever applicable.

These may include:

• Statutes and legislation
• Constitutional provisions
• Judicial decisions
• Rules and regulations
• Government notifications and reports
• Law Commission reports
• International instruments
• Academic literature
• Other credible legal and research sources

Legal authorities should be accurately cited and appropriately connected to the arguments made in the article.

𝟳. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀

The blog should demonstrate the participant’s ability to critically analyse the selected legal issue.

Participants should, where appropriate:

• Identify shortcomings or limitations in the existing legal framework.
• Examine conflicting perspectives or interpretations.
• Analyse the effectiveness of existing laws or judicial approaches.
• Discuss practical challenges and implications.
• Present well-reasoned arguments and counterarguments.
• Suggest possible reforms, solutions, or future directions.

Submissions should reflect the participant’s own legal reasoning rather than merely summarising existing material.

𝟴. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

The blog should conclude by bringing together the key arguments and observations discussed throughout the article.

The conclusion may also include:

• The participant’s overall position on the issue.
• Key findings from the discussion.
• Suggested reforms or solutions.
• Future implications or areas requiring further research.

The conclusion should be concise and should not introduce substantial arguments that have not been discussed in the main body.

𝟵. 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀

Participants may use Bluebook citation style for citing legal authorities.

However, the competition does not mandate the use of only one particular citation system. Participants may use another recognised citation method or their own consistent citation system, provided that:

• The citation method is used consistently throughout the article.
• All important legal authorities and sources are properly acknowledged.
• Judgments, statutes, reports, academic sources, and other materials are appropriately referenced.
• Citations are sufficiently clear to allow readers to identify and verify the source.
• Quotations, ideas, statistics, and materials taken from other sources are properly attributed.

Participants may use footnotes, endnotes, or appropriate hyperlinks depending on the citation method adopted.

Bluebook citation is recommended for participants who wish to follow a standard legal citation format.

𝟭𝟬. 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Participants should follow the following formatting requirements:

• Font: Times New Roman
• Font Size: 12
• Line Spacing: 1.5
• Text Alignment: Justified
• Page Size: A4
• Margins: 1 inch on all sides
• File Format: DOCX preferred; PDF also accepted

The document should be clean, properly formatted, and clearly readable.

𝟭𝟭. 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

• The submitted blog must be the participant’s original work.
• The article must not have been previously published elsewhere.
• All sources and borrowed material must be appropriately acknowledged.
• Plagiarism or substantial copying from any source may result in disqualification.
• Participants are responsible for ensuring the originality and authenticity of their submissions.

𝟭𝟮. 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

The submission should reflect the participant’s own research, analysis, arguments, and writing.

Participants must ensure that any use of AI-assisted tools does not result in plagiarism, fabricated authorities, inaccurate citations, or misrepresentation of authorship.

Participants remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their submissions.

𝟭𝟯. 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Participants may optionally submit a thumbnail/featured image for their blog in case the article is selected for publication on Lexibal.

Recommended aspect ratio: 3:2
Preferred format: JPG or PNG

The thumbnail should be:

• Clean and clear.
• Professionally presented.
• Relevant to the subject of the blog.
• A suitable illustration representing the topic.
• Free from unnecessary text, clutter, blur, or pixelation.

Participants must ensure that they have the right to use any image submitted and that it does not infringe third-party copyright.

Submission of a thumbnail is optional.

𝟭𝟰. 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀

Registered participants must submit their final blog through the official submission form provided by Team Lexibal.

Participants are required to provide:

• Full Name
• Email Address used during registration
• Blog Title
• Final Blog/Article
• Optional thumbnail for publication
• Required declarations

Final Submission Deadline: 25 September 2026

Participants are advised to carefully review and proofread their article before submission.

Only one final submission will be accepted from each registered participant.

𝟭𝟱. 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Submissions may be evaluated on the basis of:

• Relevance to the competition theme
• Quality of legal research
• Understanding of the subject
• Depth of analysis
• Identification of research gaps and contemporary concerns
• Critical thinking and legal reasoning
• Originality of arguments
• Use of legal authorities and sources
• Structure and organisation
• Clarity and quality of writing
• Overall presentation

𝟭𝟲. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Top 50 entries will be selected through the evaluation process and considered for publication on Lexibal, subject to editorial review.

Selection among the Top 50 does not automatically guarantee publication. Publication shall remain subject to Lexibal’s editorial review and publication policy.

Selected entries may receive a Certificate of Excellence along with the opportunity to have their article published on the Lexibal website.

𝟭𝟳. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

A submission may be disqualified if:

• It contains plagiarism or substantially copied content.
• The article is found to be previously published.
• The prescribed word limit is not followed.
• The submission is received after the deadline.
• False or misleading information is provided.
• The submission does not comply with the competition guidelines.
• More than one final submission is made by the same participant.
• The submission contains fabricated or materially inaccurate legal authorities or references.

𝟭𝟴. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲

Participants are advised to carefully read and understand these guidelines before preparing and submitting their blogs.

By submitting the article, the participant confirms that the submission is original, complies with the competition guidelines, and may be evaluated and considered for publication in accordance with the competition’s publication policy.
