Barowalia & Associates is a litigation-focused law firm established in 1987 under the proprietorship of Advocate Ganesh Barowalia. The firm has developed extensive experience in handling matters before the Supreme Court of India, the Himachal Pradesh High Court, District Courts, and various quasi-judicial forums. Through structured mentorship and practical assignments, the firm provides interns with exposure to real casework, pleadings, and litigation strategy.

About the Internship

This internship is designed to provide law students with hands-on exposure to litigation practice through research assignments, drafting responsibilities, and assistance in court-related procedural work. Interns will work closely with the legal team and gain insight into the functioning of courts, preparation of briefs, and statutory interpretation in live matters.

Participants will also have the opportunity to observe professional ethics, confidentiality protocols, and the workflow followed in active litigation environments.

Mode of Internship

This is an on-site internship conducted at the firm’s office in Shimla.

This internship will take place at Barowalia & Associates, Shimla.

Duration of Internship

The internship will be conducted for a period of 30 days between May 2026 and June 2026.

Stipend

A performance-based stipend will be provided to selected interns.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will assist in conducting legal research and statutory analysis on assigned issues relevant to ongoing matters handled by the firm. They will support preparation of pleadings, court filings, briefs, summaries, and research reports while also contributing to case documentation under supervision.

Students may also assist the legal team in reviewing case laws, preparing analytical notes, and supporting litigation workflow while maintaining professional confidentiality standards.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invited from LL.B. students enrolled in UGC and BCI-recognized universities who demonstrate strong research, drafting, and analytical skills. Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Manupatra and SCC Online will be considered an advantage.

Candidates should also have a clear interest in litigation practice and the ability to work within timelines in a professional chamber environment.
