Global Labor Justice invites applications from current JD and LLM students for its Summer 2027 Legal Internship. The in-person programme offers experience supporting international labour rights campaigns through legal research, drafting and communications.
About Global Labor Justice
Global Labor Justice (GLJ) works to protect workers’ rights across global supply chains and migration corridors. It partners with unions and worker organisations to advance decent work, corporate accountability and freedom of association.
About the Internship
Interns will support ongoing campaigns under the supervision of GLJ attorneys and campaign staff. The opportunity focuses on legal strategies supporting worker-led organising and international labour rights.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in a JD or LLM programme.
- Independently secure US work authorisation by the internship start date.
Roles and Responsibilities
Interns will assist with:
- Drafting factual and legal memoranda.
- Supporting labour rights campaigns.
- Preparing external communications, including letters and press releases.
Duration and Location
The internship runs from May 31 to August 6, 2027, in person at GLJ’s Washington, DC office.
Compensation
Interns must receive support through external funding, academic credit or another qualifying non-monetary arrangement. An employer-paid stipend is not promised.
