The Innovation Brief invites original 800–1,500-word blog submissions on the EU–India FTA, innovation and access by October 20, 2026.
About The Innovation Brief
The Innovation Brief is a student-led platform run by students from National Law University Delhi, with institutional support from the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC). It fosters informed and accessible discussion at the intersection of law, innovation, technology, intellectual property and public policy. The platform focuses on intellectual property, technology and competition law, while welcoming submissions from other disciplines when they address the broader intersection of technology, innovation and law.
About the Call
The Innovation Brief invites blog submissions on the theme “Impact of the Intersection of Innovation and Access by the EU–India FTA.” The call seeks discussion of how the agreement’s intellectual property chapter may affect the balance between innovation and access, including its implications for India’s development and public health priorities alongside European protection standards. The NLU Delhi call for blogs welcomes analysis of the legal, policy and practical questions raised by this theme.
Theme
Suggested areas for EU–India FTA blog submissions include:
- Pharmaceutical patents, data exclusivity, compulsory licensing and generic medicines
- Geographical indications and traditional knowledge
- Copyright enforcement and digital trade
- Competition policy and technology transfer
- Issues affecting micro, small and medium enterprises
These areas are illustrative. Contributions may also examine other aspects of the agreement, including the relationship between digital trade and anticompetitive conduct. Writers may approach the subject through law, technology, innovation, intellectual property or public policy, provided the submission fits the platform’s stated scope.
Eligibility Criteria
The call is open to students, researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders interested in the themes. Contributors from disciplines beyond law may submit work that falls within the broader intersection of technology, innovation and law. Single-author submissions and co-authored pieces by up to two authors are permitted.
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be between 800 and 1,500 words. Longer pieces may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
- Submit an original work that has not been published previously or submitted to another platform.
- Do not include the author’s name or institutional affiliation in the manuscript.
- Submissions must be in .doc or .docx format and sent through the official form. Submissions through other channels will not be considered.
- The same piece must not be submitted elsewhere during the review process.
Formatting Guidelines
Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing and one-inch margins. The title should be bold and underlined; first-level headings should be bold and second-level headings italicised. Format headings in the Normal style rather than using heading styles. Hyperlink relevant references; footnotes, if used, should follow OSCOLA. Use British spelling and the Oxford comma. Case names should be italicised and use “v.” rather than “vs.” Define abbreviations on first use, italicise quotations, and write dates in the format “15 May 2025.” Avoid the symbols § and ¶ except when referring to paragraphs in judgments.
