Through its initiatives, SCF supports the development of space governance frameworks and of the professionals who will shape them, connecting students with an international community working on space law and policy.

About the Opportunity

The Space Court Foundation has announced its Legal Internship Programme, welcoming current undergraduate and master’s students who are passionate about space policy and research. The internship is conducted entirely remotely.

Selected participants will collaborate with an international network, advance their legal research capabilities, and actively shape the future of space governance.

Duration

The internship programme typically runs for a full year. Where the internship is undertaken for university credit, semester or half-year terms can be accommodated to meet the host university’s requirements.

Mode

The internship is conducted entirely remotely.

Compensation

All positions are currently conducted on a voluntary, unpaid basis.

Application Timelines

SCF welcomes applications for its global internship programme twice a year. The upcoming application timelines are:

• February 2027 internships: applications open on 1 November and close on 1 December 2026
• September 2027 internships: applications open on 1 July and close on 1 August 2027

Eligibility Criteria

The programme welcomes current undergraduate and master’s students who are passionate about space policy and research.

Career Pathways

SCF alumni have progressed to doctoral programmes at leading universities and to roles in organisations such as UNIDIR, NASA and ESA, along with national civil services, diplomatic services and government-adjacent organisations.
