About the Opportunity

Jacoby & Meyers is seeking a smart and determined Legal Assistant to join its growing team. The firm offers multiple entry-level Legal Assistant positions across different departments, with specific responsibilities depending on the department assigned based on the candidate’s skills and qualifications.

Training will be provided for the firm’s software.

Salary

The pay range is $20.00 per hour.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should be very well organised.
• Good follow-up and follow-through skills are required.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of internet, spreadsheet and word-processing software is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

Client Communication

The Legal Assistant will interview clients and provide updates regarding case status.

Case Documentation

The role involves collecting information, evidence and documentation required by the legal department to build a case.

Records & Reports

The Legal Assistant will request police reports, medical records and bills on behalf of clients.

Data Entry & Document Management

The selected candidate will use the firm’s software for new-client data entry, scan case documentation and save it into the firm’s system.

Task Management

The role requires strict compliance with assigned appointment schedules and preparation of daily or weekly reports covering the results of assigned tasks.
