The GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy is a platform inviting scholarly and analytical contributions on contemporary issues concerning business laws and financial policy. The Blog accepts submissions that offer novel analysis and concrete suggestions rather than purely descriptive discussions.

About the Opportunity

The Blog is inviting submissions in the form of articles, opinions, case comments and short notes. It also welcomes submissions that analyse or critique existing academic research on a particular topic or issue.

Submissions must be lucid, contemporarily relevant and well-researched, with an emphasis on original analysis and concrete recommendations.

Themes

Submissions may address topics related to:

  • Corporate Law
  • Securities Law
  • Banking Law
  • Insolvency Law
  • Arbitration
  • Competition Law
  • Taxation
  • Other contemporary issues in financial and business policy.

Submission Requirements

Submissions must comply with the following requirements:

  • The submission must be in English.
  • Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.
  • The submission must be between 1,200 and 1,500 words, excluding endnotes.
  • Longer pieces may be divided into two or three-part posts, provided each part is complete in itself.
  • The title must not exceed 10–12 words.
  • The name and institution of the author or authors must not appear in the body of the submission.
  • Authors must not refer to themselves in the first person.
  • While referring to case laws, authors are encouraged to use the names of the parties rather than terms such as β€œpetitioners,” β€œappellants” or β€œrespondents.”

Formatting and Citation

Submissions must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Times New Roman, 12-point font.
  • 1.5 line spacing.
  • Justified alignment.
  • Title in bold and underlined, using Sentence Case.
  • Heading 2 in bold.
  • Heading 3 underlined.
  • One-inch margins on all sides.
  • References should be provided as hyperlinks in the body of the submission.
  • Supporting materials and legal texts should be hyperlinked wherever possible, with open-access sources preferred.
  • Where hyperlinks are unavailable, endnotes may be used.
  • Endnotes, if used, must follow OSCOLA citation style and be in Times New Roman, 10-point font with single spacing and justified alignment.
  • No borders should be used.
  • Graphs and images are not permitted unless necessary to illustrate the argument.

Submission Procedure

Authors must submit their manuscript in DOC or DOCX format through the Google Form provided by the Blog.

The file name must follow the format: β€œTitle_GCBPP Blog”.

Submissions made through any other medium will be summarily rejected. The Editorial Board will acknowledge submissions at the earliest and ordinarily communicate its decision within ten days of submission.

The Editorial Board follows a strict double-blind peer-review process and retains discretion to accept or reject submissions. Publication will be confirmed subject to incorporation of suggestions, if any, provided by the Editorial Board.
