About Yell Club

Yell Club is the public speaking and debate society of the Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC), MAHE. It is organising Pro.Verb 2026 in association with MICโ€™s annual fest, Article 19.

Pro.Verb was first launched in 2015 in honour of veteran journalist and former Honorary Director of MIC, M.V. Kamath. After a hiatus since 2019, the competition returns in 2026 with a focus on the Indian Parliamentary Style format.

About the Opportunity

Pro.Verb 2026 is a national parliamentary debate competition that will require participants to debate real-world, high-profile legal and societal cases from India through courtroom-style arguments.

The competition will follow the Indian Parliamentary Style Debate format. Each team must have exactly two members, with only one team permitted per institution. Individual performances will be scored independently and will contribute to the overall team ranking.

The competition will be conducted in the Indian Parliamentary Style Debate format.

Each team must consist of exactly two members, and only one team may participate from each institution. Individual speakers will be assessed independently, with their scores contributing to the teamโ€™s overall ranking.

The competition will be conducted at the Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal.

Registration Fee

Registration for Pro.Verb 2026 is completely free.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students in 12th Grade (PUC) are eligible to participate.
  • Undergraduate students nationwide are eligible to participate.

Prizes

The competition will offer cash prizes, with the amounts to be revealed soon. Individual speaker awards will also be presented alongside team trophies.
