Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is an Institution of National Importance and a specialised national security and police university under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It focuses on education, research and training in national security, policing, strategic studies and interdisciplinary areas.

About the Opportunity

The 3rd RRU International Moot Court Competition (RIMC 2026) is being organised as part of International Law Week 2026. The competition focuses on contemporary issues in International Law and International Security, including the intersection of international relations and international law, United Nations Charter principles, peaceful settlement of disputes, and recognised sources of international law.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must be bona fide and regularly enrolled in an undergraduate law programme.
  • Students pursuing 3-year LL.B. programmes may participate.
  • Students pursuing 5-year LL.B. programmes may participate.
  • Students pursuing equivalent undergraduate law programmes may participate.
  • The programme must be offered by a recognised institution in India or abroad and accredited by the competent authority.
  • Each recognised institution may send only one team.

Competition Structure

Memorial Elimination Round

The Memorial Elimination Round will be based on the evaluation of memorials. The top 30 teams will qualify for the Oral Rounds.

Oral Rounds

The Oral Rounds will comprise:

  • Preliminary Rounds
  • Quarter-finals
  • Semi-finals
  • Finals

Teams must submit the Letter of Intent and Letter of Authorization at the earliest for team-code allocation and logistical arrangements.

Location

The competition will be held at Rashtriya Raksha University, Lavad, Dehgam, Gandhinagar, Gujarat – 382305.

Important Dates

  • Invitation to submit Letter of Intent: July 25, 2026
  • Release of clarification, if any: August 25, 2026
  • Last date for registration form and memorial submission: September 15, 2026
  • Memorial Elimination Round results: October 1, 2026
  • Inaugural Ceremony: November 20, 2026
  • RIMC Finals and Valedictory Ceremony: November 22, 2026
  • RRU Lavad International Law Academy: November 23–December 5, 2026

Fee

There is no registration fee. Teams qualifying for the Oral Rounds will also not be charged registration or accommodation fees.

Prizes & Scholarships

  • Winning Team: Rs. 75,000 + Internship at RCIL
  • Runner-up Team: Rs. 50,000 + Internship at RCIL
  • Best Speaker: Rs. 30,000
  • Best Memorial: Rs. 30,000

The total cash prize pool is Rs. 1,85,000. Additionally, the top 12 international teams will receive a USD 1,000 scholarship in accordance with the RIMC Rule Book.
