Saveetha School of Law is inviting academic contributions for an international conference examining legal, behavioural and psychological perspectives on responsible communication. The institution focuses on legal education, research and professional training.

The conference brings together students, researchers, academicians, legal professionals, policymakers, healthcare professionals and media professionals to examine contemporary issues at the intersection of law, media and mental health.

About the Opportunity

Saveetha School of Law is organising the international conference titled Beyond the Screen: Mental Health and Media Influence Legal, Behavioural and Psychological Perspectives on Responsible Communication.

The conference will examine how news media, social media, entertainment and digital advertising influence public perception, behaviour and mental well-being. It will also consider the legal, ethical, behavioural and institutional responses required to promote responsible communication.

Research papers are invited on the listed sub-themes or other topics falling within the broader conference theme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students pursuing a 3-Year LL.B. or 5-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognised law college or university can participate.
  • Academicians, legal professionals, policymakers, researchers, students, healthcare professionals and media professionals can submit papers.
  • A co-author is permitted.
  • Submissions must be original and must not be simultaneously under consideration elsewhere.

Submission Procedure

Participants must first submit an abstract of not more than 250 words.

The abstract must contain the title of the paper and author details as footnotes.

Abstracts should be submitted by email to media.mentalhealthconfssl@gmail.com.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted will receive further instructions for submitting their full papers and completing registration.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Full papers should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, including footnotes.
  • The font should be Times New Roman.
  • The body text should be in 12-point font.
  • Footnotes should be in 10-point font.
  • Line spacing should be 1.5 for the body and 1 for footnotes.
  • Citations should follow either the ILI style or OSCOLA 4th Edition.
  • Submissions should have less than 10% similarity.
  • Submissions should have less than 5% AI-generated content.
  • Papers must be original and unpublished and should not be simultaneously submitted to another seminar, conference, journal or book chapter.

Important Dates

  • The last date for abstract submission is August 31, 2026, by 11:59 PM.
  • The last date for full paper submission is September 2, 2026.
  • The last date for payment and registration is September 2, 2026.
  • The conference will be held on September 4, 2026.

Registration Fee

Academicians will be required to pay β‚Ή1,000 as an author and β‚Ή1,200 as a co-author.

PhD scholars will be required to pay β‚Ή700 as an author and β‚Ή900 as a co-author.

Students will be required to pay β‚Ή500 as an author and β‚Ή700 as a co-author.

Participants who are not presenting a paper will be required to pay β‚Ή150.

The registration fee is non-refundable.

Application Procedure

The registration form should be completed separately, and the applicable registration fee must be paid by September 2, 2026.

Interested participants may submit their abstracts through the designated submission process.

Participants whose abstracts are accepted will receive the instructions for full paper submission.
