About Manipal University Jaipur

Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) was launched in 2011 as a self-financed State University following an invitation from the Government of Rajasthan. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across disciplines, including law.

The Faculty of Law at Manipal University Jaipur offers five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.) programmes, along with LLB, LLM and Ph.D. programmes. The Faculty of Law was ranked 32nd in the NIRF 2025 Law discipline.

About Ranka Public Charitable Trust

Ranka Public Charitable Trust was established by Late Dr. N. M. Ranka, Senior Advocate, in 1980. The Trust has undertaken activities relating to education, philanthropy, legal awareness and moot court competitions, and has organised more than 40 moot court competitions in collaboration with various universities.

About the Opportunity

The Moot Court Committee of the School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur is organising the 12th Manipal Ranka International Moot Court Competition 2026 in association with Ranka Public Charitable Trust. The competition provides law students with an opportunity to participate in a simulated courtroom setting involving legal research, memorial drafting and oral advocacy.

The preliminary rounds will be conducted online on October 2, 2026, while the advanced rounds will be held in person from October 25 to October 26, 2026.

The preliminary rounds are scheduled for October 2, 2026.

The last date for registration is September 23, 2026, by 23:59 IST.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for Indian participants is INR 5,000. The participation fee for international participants is USD 50. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Teams that qualify for the knockout rounds will have to pay an accommodation fee of INR 5,000, inclusive of food and accommodation. The payment window for this fee is from October 4 to October 11, 2026.

Awards

The winner will receive a trophy, certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of INR 51,000. The runners-up will receive a trophy, certificate of appreciation and INR 25,000.

The Best Speaker, Best Memorial and Best Researcher will each receive a trophy, certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of INR 10,000. All title holders will also be entitled to an additional 10% discount on courses offered by Lawctopus Law School.

Schedule

The moot problem will be released on July 29, 2026, which is also the opening date of registration. The last date for seeking clarification is September 4, followed by the release of clarification on September 11, 2026.

The last date for submission of memorials in soft copy is September 29, 2026. The preliminary rounds will take place online on October 2, with the results scheduled for October 4.

Application Procedure

Interested teams are required to complete the registration form online along with all team details. Registration is open from July 29, 2026, to September 23, 2026, by 23:59 IST. Teams will receive a confirmation email after registration, and team codes will be communicated later.

Teams must also pay the applicable registration fee. Participation is subject to submission of the memorial and payment of the full registration fee, with formal registration being completed only after the required payment.

The registration deadline is September 23, 2026, by 23:59 IST.
