Imamul Hai Khan Law College, Bokaro invites teams for its National Moot Court Competition 2026, focusing on Constitutional Law and Centre-State disputes.
About the Institution
Imamul Hai Khan Law College (IHKLC), Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, is a minority institution recognised by the Bar Council of India and permanently affiliated with Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad. The college focuses on legal education, practical advocacy skills and social justice.
About the Competition
The IHKLC National Moot Court Competition 2026 is being organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Law Department of the college. The competition aims to develop legal research, memorial drafting, advocacy and courtroom skills. The 2026 edition focuses on Constitutional Law, particularly original jurisdiction and inter-State/Centre-State disputes.
The competition will be conducted in Hybrid Mode, with the preliminary and quarter-final rounds conducted online and the semi-final and final rounds held physically at the IHKLC campus in Bokaro.

Eligibility
The competition is open to bona fide students pursuing:
- 3-year LL.B.
- 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B.
- B.B.A. LL.B.
- B.Com. LL.B.
- B.Sc. LL.B.
Students must be enrolled in a college or university recognised by the BCI and/or UGC in India.
Team Composition
Each team must consist of three members:
- 2 Speakers
- 1 Researcher
A maximum of two teams from each institution may participate. Registration is limited to 24 teams and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration Fee
βΉ2,000 per team
Registration is to be completed through the official Google Form. Teams are required to submit the prescribed documents, including a bona fide certificate/ID card, photographs, authorisation letter and payment proof.
Competition Structure
Preliminary Rounds: Each team will argue once for the Petitioner and once for the Respondent. Each team will receive 15 minutes.
Quarter-Finals: The top eight teams based on cumulative oral and memorial scores will advance. Each team will receive 20 minutes, including up to 3 minutes of rebuttal.
Semi-Finals: The top four teams will compete in a knockout round with 30 minutes per team, including 5 minutes of rebuttal.
Final: The two winning teams will compete before the final bench, with 30 minutes allotted to each team, inclusive of rebuttals.
Memorial Guidelines
Each team must submit separate memorials for the Petitioner and Respondent.

- Times New Roman, 12-point font
- 1.5 line spacing for the body
- 10-point font with single spacing for footnotes
- Maximum 30 pages, excluding annexures
- 21st Edition Bluebook citation style
- Blue for Petitioner/Appellant and Red for Respondent
The permitted plagiarism limit is 20%. The rules also expressly prohibit the use of generative AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude, and violation may result in disqualification.

Accommodation & Hospitality
IHKLC will provide vegetarian breakfast, lunch, high-tea and dinner to registered participants on the days of the competition. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to Bokaro, while the college will provide local logistical guidance.
