The conference is being organised by the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Law Division under the Centre for Business Laws and Taxation (CBLT), RGNUL. It marks the tenth year of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and aims to facilitate academic discussions on the evolution of insolvency law, technological advancements, cross-border insolvency, environmental considerations, and the future direction of insolvency jurisprudence in India and globally.
About the Opportunity
The Insolvency & Bankruptcy Law Division, Centre for Business Laws and Taxation, RGNUL, is organising a Two-Day International Conference on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code to commemorate a decade of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The conference seeks to create a platform for academics, legal professionals, insolvency practitioners, policymakers, students, and researchers to exchange ideas on contemporary developments and future challenges in insolvency law.
The first day of the conference will feature an expert panel discussion titled “Decoding the Next Decade of the IBC: Technology, Cross-Border Regimes and Sustainable Insolvency.” The discussion will examine judicial developments under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, analyse significant decisions of the Supreme Court and NCLAT, explore the role of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), and discuss issues relating to cybersecurity, data governance, ESG-linked risks, environmental liabilities, climate-sensitive valuation, and India’s proposed cross-border insolvency framework under Part Z in light of the UNCITRAL Model Law.
The second day will be dedicated to paper presentations. All submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed edited volume or a leading law journal in collaboration with the conference partners.

The conference will be held on 9–10 October 2026.
Mode
The conference will be conducted in offline mode at the RGNUL campus. Hybrid participation will be facilitated only for international delegates.

The organisers have clarified that registration fees, once paid, are non-refundable.

Authors intending to present research papers should submit their abstracts on or before 10 August 2026. Shortlisted authors will be required to submit the full paper by 25 September 2026. The conference will be held on 9–10 October 2026 at the RGNUL campus in Patiala, Punjab.
