NUALS regularly promotes legal scholarship through conferences, seminars, journals, and other research initiatives.
About the Opportunity
The Editorial Board of the NUALS Law Journal is inviting submissions for Volume 21, Issue 1 of the Journal. Published bi-annually, the NUALS Law Journal (ISSN: 2319-8273) is the flagship multidisciplinary, double-blind peer-reviewed law journal of NUALS.
The Journal invites original and unpublished manuscripts across multiple categories. Selected submissions will undergo the prescribed editorial and peer-review process before publication.
Deadline
The last date for submissions is September 5, 2026.
The issue is expected to be published by January 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- Submissions must be original and must not have been submitted, accepted, or published elsewhere.
- A manuscript may have a maximum of three authors.
- Every submission must include an abstract of not more than 250 words within the manuscript.
- Manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
- The manuscript must not contain any identifying information, including author names or metadata.
- Plagiarised submissions will be summarily rejected.
Submission Categories
The Journal accepts submissions under the following categories:
- Legislative Comments: 1,500–3,000 words.
- Short Notes: 1,500–5,000 words.
- Case Comments: 1,500–5,000 words.
- Essays: 3,000–5,000 words.
- Articles: 5,000–10,000 words.
Speaking footnotes, if used, must not exceed 50 words. Articles exceeding the prescribed word limit may be considered on merit at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Formatting Requirements
- All submissions must comply with the NUALS Law Journal Citation Guide.
- Where the Citation Guide does not prescribe a citation format, authors should follow the 20th Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
- Manuscripts must conform to the NUALS Law Journal Style Guide.
- Dates, language, and references to legislative and judicial bodies must comply with the NUALS Law Journal Formatting Guide and Language Guide.
- Submissions must be made only in .doc or .docx format.
- Manuscripts must not contain any identification markers.
