Registrations are open for the 2nd CCI–MNLUCS National Antitrust Moot Court Competition, 2026, organised by MNLU Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India and Phoenix Legal.

About Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (MNLUCS), established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, commenced operations in 2017. The University was founded to provide quality legal education and has since developed into a leading institution offering academic and professional opportunities to law students across India.

The competition is jointly organised by the Moot Court Association and the Centre for Competition Law and Policy of MNLUCS in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Phoenix Legal. The event seeks to promote excellence in competition law advocacy and legal research.

About the Opportunity

The 2nd CCI–MNLUCS National Antitrust Moot Court Competition, 2026, provides law students with an opportunity to develop advocacy, legal research, drafting, and oral argument skills in the field of competition law.

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid format. The inaugural ceremony, preliminary rounds, and quarter-final rounds will be held virtually, while the semi-final rounds, final rounds, and valedictory ceremony will take place on the MNLU Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar campus.

Start Date

The competition will commence on September 12, 2026.

Mode

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode, with virtual and on-campus rounds.

Location

The semi-final rounds, final rounds, and valedictory ceremony will be held at Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Remuneration

The organisers have announced the following awards:

  • Winners will receive a trophy, a cash prize of ₹50,000, internship opportunities with Phoenix Legal, and one-year SCC Online subscriptions for all team members.
  • Runners-up will receive a trophy, a cash prize of ₹30,000, and internship opportunities.
  • Best Speaker will receive a trophy and a cash prize of ₹10,000.
  • Best Memorial (Petitioner) will receive a trophy and a cash prize of ₹10,000.
  • Best Memorial (Respondent) will receive a trophy and a cash prize of ₹10,000.
  • All participants will receive one-month access to the SCC Online Web Edition and certificates of participation or merit based on performance.

Deadline

The last date for registration is August 10, 2026. Memorials must be submitted by August 20, 2026.

Application Procedure

Interested teams may apply through the following:

  • The Stage I registration fee is ₹4,500 per team.
  • Registration will be considered complete only after submission of the registration form and payment of the registration fee.
  • Teams qualifying for the semi-final rounds will receive Stage II registration details separately via their registered email addresses.
  • Complete the registration on or before August 10, 2026.
