The Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan supports the judicial functions of Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The office engages law interns to assist with legal research and judicial work, providing exposure to constitutional and other areas of law while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

About the Internship

The Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan is inviting applications for full-time, in-person judicial internships commencing from August 2026. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. The internship offers eligible law students an opportunity to gain practical exposure to judicial functioning and legal research under the guidance of the office.

Mode

This is a full-time, in-person internship. Interns are required to attend the office physically throughout the internship period and actively participate in the assigned judicial and research-related work.

Location

The internship will be conducted at the Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India. Selected interns will be required to report to the office and attend the internship in person.

Duration

Internships will commence on the first working day of every month, unless otherwise specified. Candidates are expected to indicate their preferred internship month while submitting their applications.

Deadline

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants are advised to submit their applications at least five weeks before their intended internship start date to facilitate timely consideration.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate law students are eligible to apply.
  • Students in the 2nd year or above of a three-year LL.B. programme.
  • Students in the 4th year or above of a five-year integrated law programme.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a telephonic or virtual interview. Confirmation of selection will ordinarily be communicated 2–4 weeks before the commencement of the internship.

Orientation

Selected interns will participate in an orientation session at the beginning of the internship. The session will cover office procedures, research tools, policies, templates, and other protocols required for the effective discharge of internship responsibilities.

Professional Expectations

Interns are expected to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism throughout the internship. They must ensure that all information accessed during the course of the internship is handled with due discretion and that their conduct reflects the integrity expected within the Office of a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
