About Centre for Child Rights, National Law University Odisha
The Centre for Child Rights (CCR) is a specialised action research centre of National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack. Established in 2015, the Centre undertakes research, policy advocacy, capacity building, and community engagement on child rights, child protection, juvenile justice, and access to justice for children. It also supports academic initiatives aimed at strengthening child rights discourse and legal research.
About the Journal
The Journal on the Rights of the Child of National Law University Odisha is a double-blind peer-reviewed, bi-annual journal published by the Centre for Child Rights. The journal invites original contributions on contemporary issues relating to child rights, juvenile justice, child protection, legislative developments, socio-legal issues, and children’s well-being. Volume VII, Issue II is scheduled for publication in October 2026.

Submissions are invited under the following categories:
- Original Research Papers (4,000–6,000 words)
- Case Commentaries (1,500–2,000 words)
- Notes and Comments (1,500–2,000 words)
- Book Reviews (1,200–1,500 words)
- Fact Sheets/Infographics
- Juvenile Justice at a Glance (3,000–4,000 words)
- Pop Culture Reviews (1,200–1,500 words)
- Children in the News Commentaries (2,000–2,500 words)
- Photo Essays
Themes
The journal welcomes submissions on child rights, child protection, juvenile justice, education, health, nutrition, internet access, public finance and children, contemporary legal developments, media reporting on children, pop culture, and other related socio-legal issues affecting children. The list of themes is illustrative and not exhaustive.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be original and unpublished.
- Plagiarism and extensive AI-generated content will result in rejection.
- Manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
- Similarity should be below 10%.
- AI-generated content should not exceed 20%.
- An abstract of 150–300 words with at least five keywords is mandatory.
- References and citations must follow APA 7th Edition.
- Co-authorship is permitted.
- A separate title page containing author details, declarations, and a brief profile must accompany the submission.

Deadline
The last date for submitting manuscripts for Volume VII, Issue II (October 2026) is 15 August 2026. Submissions received after the deadline may not be considered for the current issue.
Review Process
All submissions will undergo an editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review process. Authors will ordinarily be informed of the acceptance or rejection of their submissions within five weeks. Accepted manuscripts may require revisions based on editorial suggestions before publication.
