About the Job
Obhan & Associates is inviting applications for the position of Associate at its Mumbai office. The role offers an opportunity to work on commercial transactions within the media and entertainment sector while also handling broad-based commercial litigation matters.
The selected candidate will be involved in transaction structuring, contract negotiations, legal advisory work, litigation strategy, research, and representation-related support across various forums.
Location
The position is based in Mumbai.
Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B., B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., or equivalent law degree.
- 4–6 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Experience in commercial transactions, particularly within the media and entertainment sector.
- Experience in commercial litigation.
- Experience in IP and IT litigation will be preferred.
- Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Commercial Transactions
- Conduct legal risk assessments for commercial transactions.
- Draft, structure, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Work on acquisition, licensing, co-production, talent, and distribution agreements.
- Advise clients on transactional and contractual matters in the media and entertainment industry.
Commercial Litigation
- Draft pleadings and litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Attend hearings before judicial and quasi-judicial authorities.
- Manage commercial litigation matters across various forums.
Intellectual Property & Technology Disputes
- Assist in handling IP and IT-related disputes.
- Support litigation strategy and legal analysis in technology and intellectual property matters.
Client Advisory & Matter Management
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders on ongoing matters.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines efficiently.
- Provide strategic legal support across transactional and contentious work.
