About the TNNLU Vacant Seats Admission 2026
After the completion of five rounds of CLAT counselling, a few vacant seats remain available in TNNLU’s undergraduate law programmes. The university has clarified that both current and future vacancies arising during the admission cycle will be filled only from candidates applying through this notification.
Candidates who participated in CLAT 2026 and secured ranks within the prescribed category-wise limits are eligible to apply. Even candidates who did not participate in CLAT counselling due to non-payment of counselling fees may apply if they appeared for CLAT 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for TNNLU vacant seats admission, candidates must satisfy the following conditions:
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination with:
- Minimum 45% marks for General/OBC and other categories
- Minimum 40% marks for SC/ST candidates
CLAT Requirement
Applicants must have appeared in CLAT 2026. Eligibility will be determined on the basis of CLAT All India Rank and category-specific cut-offs announced in the notification.

Special Categories Explained
TNNLU has invited applications under several horizontal and reservation categories, including:
Specially Abled Persons (SAP/PWD)
Candidates with benchmark disabilities exceeding 40% and who appeared for CLAT 2026 are eligible to apply under the SAP/PWD quota.
Government School Students Quota (GSSQ)
Candidates who studied from Classes 6–12 in Tamil Nadu Government Schools may apply under the Government School Students Quota.
Eminent Sports Person Quota (ESP-TN)
Tamil Nadu resident candidates with sports achievements at State, National, or International level between June 2022 and May 2026 may apply.
Ex-Servicemen Quota (XS-TN)
Candidates seeking admission under this category must prove dependency on an ex-serviceman parent.
Wards of Kashmiri Migrants (WKM)
Students belonging to Kashmiri Migrant or Kashmiri Pandit/Hindu families may apply under the relevant category.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay:

Fee Structure at TNNLU
The approximate first-year fee payable at TNNLU is around Rs. 2.98 lakh, including tuition, hostel, deposits, and user charges. Fee concessions are available for Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates, Government School Quota students, and First-Generation Graduates under applicable rules.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- No separate future notification will be issued for new vacancies arising later.
- Only applicants applying under this notification will be considered for future vacancies.
- Separate applications are required for BA LLB and BCom LLB programmes.
- Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
