Politics for Impact is inviting applications for the position of Legislative Research Intern under its Policy and Research vertical for the Monsoon Session of Parliament 2026. This internship offers students and recent graduates an opportunity to gain practical exposure to legislative research, parliamentary processes, and public policy.

About the Internship

The Legislative Research Internship is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in parliamentary and policy research during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Selected interns will work closely with the Policy and Research team and contribute to substantive assignments involving legislative analysis, public policy research, and drafting parliamentary interventions.

Interns will conduct research on government schemes, analyse bills and committee agendas, monitor parliamentary proceedings, and assist in drafting parliamentary questions, Zero Hour submissions, and matters under Rule 377. They will also contribute to reports and other knowledge outputs prepared by the organisation.

This internship is particularly suitable for candidates interested in legislative drafting, public policy, governance, and political consulting.

Eligibility Criteria

Students and recent graduates in law, public policy, economics, political science, or related disciplines are eligible to apply. Candidates should possess strong writing, research, and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in an in-office environment.

Prior experience in legislative research is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh and knowledge of Telugu will be considered an added advantage.

Stipend

The stipend for this internship is ₹5,000 per month.
