About the Opportunity / Role
The Business Operation Head role at S.S. Rana & Co. is a leadership-driven position that combines legal understanding with operational management and business development. The selected candidate will support the firm’s IP practice by contributing to client acquisition strategies and strengthening the firm’s presence in key markets.
The role involves assisting in building and managing the IP client base while ensuring smooth coordination of day-to-day operations within the practice. Candidates will work across areas such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, with exposure to both advisory and contentious matters, including enforcement and litigation.
The position also requires managing internal workflows, coordinating with teams, and maintaining client relationships through structured communication and service delivery. Candidates will contribute to strategic initiatives aligned with the firm’s expansion plans in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune.
This role is particularly suitable for professionals who are looking to move into leadership-oriented positions within IP law, where legal expertise is complemented by operational and business growth responsibilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates with four to five years of post-qualification experience in intellectual property law are eligible to apply. Applicants must hold an LL.B. (three-year or five-year) or LL.M. degree. A working knowledge of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs is required, along with a basic understanding of IP enforcement and litigation.
Candidates should have exposure to advisory and/or contentious IP matters, along with familiarity with domestic IP work. Experience with international IP matters will be considered an advantage. Strong operational, coordination, and client servicing skills are essential, along with the ability to manage day-to-day functions effectively.
