The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) is inviting applications for its Summer Internship Programme 2026. This internship offers law students an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the functioning of legal aid institutions and the justice delivery system at the grassroots level.
About the Organisation
The Delhi State Legal Services Authority operates with the objective of ensuring “Access to Justice for All,” and works actively towards spreading legal awareness and providing free legal aid to marginalized sections of society. As part of the broader framework under the Legal Services Authorities Act, DSLSA plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between citizens and the legal system through outreach, education, and facilitation of legal remedies.
About the Opportunity / Internship
The Summer Internship Programme 2026 is designed as an immersive experience that enables interns to understand the day-to-day functioning of a legal services authority. Interns will be exposed to real-world legal challenges faced by individuals, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, and will gain insights into how institutional mechanisms address these concerns.
During the internship, students may have the opportunity to observe proceedings across various courts and tribunals, including district courts, family courts, labour courts, and mediation centres. The programme also includes exposure to alternative dispute resolution forums such as Lok Adalats.
In addition to courtroom exposure, interns may participate in outreach activities such as legal awareness campaigns and legal aid clinics. The programme further extends to institutional visits, including child care institutions, juvenile justice boards, police stations, and correctional facilities such as Tihar and Rohini jails. Interns may also gain exposure to government offices such as district magistrate offices and labour departments, providing a holistic understanding of how legal aid integrates with administrative systems.
This internship is particularly beneficial for students interested in litigation, public policy, and social justice, as it combines academic understanding with practical, community-level engagement.
