NLIU Bhopal invites registrations for its National Youth Parliament simulation scheduled for 6–7 April 2026.

About the NLIU

The National Youth Parliament is being organised as part of the 1st National Parliamentary and Constitutional Colloquium hosted by National Law Institute University, Bhopal. Established in 1997, NLIU Bhopal is among India’s leading National Law Universities and is widely recognised for its strong academic environment, policy engagement initiatives, and research-driven legal education.

The university has consistently contributed to national conversations on constitutional governance, legislative development, and institutional reform through conferences, colloquia, and academic simulations. Events such as the National Youth Parliament reflect the institution’s commitment to experiential learning by providing students with opportunities to engage directly with democratic processes in structured academic settings.

Through simulations replicating real parliamentary functioning, NLIU aims to create platforms where students can understand legislative negotiation, political dialogue, and constitutional debate beyond classroom teaching.

About the National Youth Parliament

The National Youth Parliament is a flagship parliamentary simulation designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of India’s legislative functioning and democratic decision-making processes. The event brings together students from across the country to deliberate on contemporary national issues through structured committee sessions replicating parliamentary procedures.

Participants will assume the roles of political representatives and engage in debates involving negotiation, coalition-building, policy advocacy, and legislative reasoning. The simulation recreates procedural dynamics of parliamentary sessions and allows delegates to experience how legislative agendas are discussed, contested, and resolved within institutional frameworks.

The programme is especially valuable for students interested in constitutional law, public policy, governance studies, and parliamentary research. It encourages participants to develop skills in argumentation, policy drafting, and institutional analysis while engaging with issues of national importance.

Committees and Agendas

The National Youth Parliament will include two specialised committee simulations representing different dimensions of parliamentary functioning.

All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)

The AIPPM simulation replicates a consultative forum where political leaders deliberate on national policy issues prior to formal legislative proceedings. Participants representing different political parties will engage in negotiations and consensus-building exercises addressing the proposal for simultaneous elections in India.

Agenda: Deliberation on the proposal for “One Nation, One Election” and its implications for India’s federal structure, electoral integrity, and democratic accountability.

Lok Sabha Session

The Lok Sabha simulation reflects the legislative functioning of the lower house of Parliament, focusing on structured debate and scrutiny of policy proposals placed before elected representatives.

Agenda: Discussion on the legalisation and regulation of online gaming and betting in India.

Both committees are designed to replicate realistic parliamentary procedures and provide participants with exposure to legislative debate frameworks.

The National Youth Parliament is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in parliamentary processes, constitutional law, and public policy discussions.
