Call for Papers at HPNLU Shimla invites submissions for Volume III of its Journal of Disability Studies.
About the Journal
The HPNLU Journal of Disability Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Centre for Human Rights and Disability Studies at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. The journal serves as a specialised platform dedicated to advancing discourse in disability law and related interdisciplinary fields.
Recognised as one of the few academic initiatives in India focusing specifically on disability jurisprudence, the journal encourages contributions that explore legal, socio-economic, policy-oriented, and rights-based dimensions of disability studies. It seeks to promote scholarship that reflects both doctrinal legal research and broader interdisciplinary engagement with issues affecting persons with disabilities.
The publication follows a blind peer-review process to ensure academic rigor and quality. It also aims to create a space where researchers, activists, professionals, and policymakers can contribute to meaningful conversations surrounding disability rights and inclusion.
About the Call for Papers
The editorial board has opened submissions for Volume III (2026) of the journal and is inviting scholarly contributions from academicians, researchers, professionals, and policymakers working in disability law and related fields.
The journal welcomes submissions that examine developments in disability law jurisprudence as well as research addressing social, institutional, and regulatory challenges affecting persons with disabilities. Contributors are encouraged to adopt multidisciplinary approaches and engage with emerging legal and policy debates in disability rights.
The initiative also supports research aligned with contemporary academic frameworks that emphasise inclusion, accessibility, and rights-based perspectives. Submissions addressing theoretical, empirical, or policy-oriented aspects of disability studies are equally encouraged.
