Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), is organising the 3rd DBRANLU National Moot Court Competition, 2026, scheduled to be held from March 13 to March 15, 2026.

About Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, is a State University established in 2012 under the State Legislature Act No. 15 of 2012. Located in Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Haryana, the University offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programmes.

The University is committed to advancing legal education, constitutional values, and experiential learning, with a strong emphasis on advocacy-oriented academic activities such as moot courts, judgment writing, and client counselling.

About the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)

The National Human Rights Commission of India was established in 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. It functions in conformity with the Paris Principles and plays a crucial role in the protection and promotion of human rights in India through investigation, intervention, monitoring, and awareness initiatives.

About the Moot Court Competition

The 3rd DBRANLU National Moot Court Competition, 2026 aims to provide law students across the country with a rigorous platform to enhance their legal research, drafting, advocacy, and oral pleading skills.

The competition will be conducted in offline mode at the DBRANLU campus and will include:

  • Memorial Elimination Round
  • Preliminary Rounds
  • Quarter-Final Rounds
  • Semi-Final Rounds
  • Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony

Eligibility

  • Students enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. programme or 5-year integrated LL.B. programme
  • Maximum of two teams per institution
  • Each team may consist of two speakers and one researcher

Registration Details

  • Initial Registration Fee: ₹1,500
  • Fee after Memorial Qualification:
  • ₹5,000 (with accommodation)
  • ₹1,500 (without accommodation)

Registration must be completed through the official Google Form.

  • Winner: ₹51,000 + Trophy + Certificate Course
  • Runner-Up: ₹31,000 + Trophy + Certificate Course
  • Second Runner-Up: ₹21,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Speaker: ₹11,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Memorial: ₹11,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Researcher: ₹11,000 + Trophy + Certificate
