Amplifying regional legal challenges to the national stage through the Voice of the East.
About NLUJAA
The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA), located in Amingaon, Guwahati, is a premier institution dedicated to modern legal education and multidisciplinary research. Established by the NLUJAA Act, 2009, the university serves as a bridge between the legal discourse of the Northeast and the rest of India, fostering an environment where diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic perspectives meet.
About the Moot: “Vox Anatolis”
Vox Anatolis, meaning “The Voice of the East,” is NLUJAA’s flagship national moot court competition. It is unique in its mission to spotlight legal issues specific to Northeast India—a region with rich cultural nuances and complex legal-geographical challenges that are often underrepresented in standard mooting circuits. Past editions have covered high-impact themes like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and Biodiversity laws.
The 2026 Theme: Inter-State Water Disputes
The 5th Edition focuses on Inter-State Water Disputes, a critical topic in Indian Federalism. With the Northeast being the rainiest region and home to the Brahmaputra and Barak river systems, conflicts over dam construction, hydropower, and water sharing are central to regional stability and development.
